The Dainty Village of Kuchanur and the All-powerful Saneeshawara Baghawan. A quaint little village in the Theni Dist, with green carpets all around. Kuchanur is also famous for its Saneeshawarar Temple. A drive of approximately 20km from Theni, the village is situated along the road. The temple is the main tourist spot here. The deity is a swayambu(self-formed) which makes it even more special. The village takes its name from one of the names of Shani Bhagwan, Kubjan. There is a beautiful river, Surabi, flowing in front of the temple. It is fed by the rivers Periyaaru and Suruliyaaru. Kuchanur hosts different communities and the people of all the communities live in harmony. There is a separate shrine for Guru Bhagwan, Vadaguru, which makes this place even more special. The shrine faces the north and hence the name. Another speciality is the five headed Vinayagar shrine in the Hanuman Temple. Surabhi is a perennial river, so there is water throughout the year. The whole place feels ethereal with the sound of the ever-flowing river, birds chirping. The mountain breeze transports one to a divine place. The temple adorns a festive look every year during the month of ‘Aadi’ and celebrations take place on every Saturday of that month. Rengha Holidays & Tourism Pvt Ltd – South India Tour Operator.
