Bodinayakanur is the second largest and most populous town in the district of Theni; the town is the headquarters of the taluk. India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, named the town “South Kashmir” because of the atmosphere and the natural climate. A city situated on the Western Ghats foothills, in India’s southern state of Tamil Nadu. This town is flanked on three sides by West Ghats hills. Theni, Bodi is 16 km from the nearest market town.

Bodinayakanur was an important position within the Nayakar rule throughout the nineteenth century. There is a small Bodinayakanur built palace. This palace was constructed with a view to the Jaipur Palace. Bodinayakanur is India’s Cardamom city.

Paramasivan Temple site of Lord Shiva, also known as Tenkasiyambathi, is blessed by Lord Shiva as a deity. God Vinayagar is known as Selva Ganesha. It’s just behind the CPA college. I think the name of the God is Sri Ramalingaeswara Swamy. The Kovil is on top of a small hill and in small sanity!Lakshmi Narasimha on the right side of Lord Shiva and Murugan with Goddess Valli on the left side and Ganapati at the foot of the hill bless from separate shrines.

Shivaperuman, who once lived in the area, went to Kasi and Rameswaram to worship the god, asking for the blessing of a child. By the grace of God, the child born to him fell ill and died suddenly. Thus out of his hatred for the deity, he decided to put the objects of worship in the river and went to bed. That night he had a dream in which he saw his son lying dead with a monk on a hill west of the city. With that, he called his son, and he went to the monk and lay down without coming to the father. The father asked the monk to send his son to him, saying that he had come to serve him and that another son like him would be born to him. Then, “Who are you who took my son for service?” He asked my monk. At that time Lord Shiva in the form of a monk appeared as Parvati Sametara to appear as a star-shaped torch on the western Kovalingan hill. He told the people of the village the next morning about what had happened, and all the people went to the place where Swamy Shiva appeared. They were surprised to find two pairs of footprints and flowers around it. After that, the temple is built there and worship is continued. Formerly a large temple, the temple is only a small stone structure with a statue of Nandi over time. This is also known as “Tendiruvannamalai”. Attempts were made to set up a correction to Lord Shiva at this place. At that time, God is seen there in the form of a torch every evening on the Koovalinga hill behind the temple. Eyewitnesses and priests say that a white eagle, which comes to this place during the daily peak puja, circled three times above the self.

Swayambhu Lingams are located in the hills in four directions, namely Marakkalingam to the northeast, Jyoti Lingam to the southwest, Mallingeswarar to the southeast, and Melasokkaiya to the northwest. Also, the mountains look special like Lingam. Devotees who visit Pavurnami here go to Kirivalam. Lakshmi Narasimha on the right side of Lord Shiva, Lord Murugan with Valli and Deivanai on the left side, and Balaganapati at the foot of the hill bless from separate shrines. Balavinayagar is blessed with the title of Selva Vinayagar. Here they make sugar Pongal as a remedy for this.
